In this month’s Technology Bytes, we step back and think about the longer-term trends in digital campaigning. Was 2016 a revolutionary year, or was it just another milestone on a straight road into our online future? I’ll argue that in at least one way, this election cycle introduced something truly new into political culture in this country. And, I think even the evolutionary trends may be leading us into unfamiliar land.
